Yummy Shaved SNOW! What it’s NOT!

At first glance, one may think it’s simply another term for shaved ice, but that is simply incorrect.

Shaved Ice is made of blocks of ice or ice cubes crushed and turned into a form of ice powder, it is then placed and compacted into a cup or paper cone and finally an assortment of artificially flavored syrups can be used to flavor the ice.

We are all very familiar with the concept; it was a treat our parents gave us during our childhood. It’s nostalgic, but at its roots, it’s simply water with artificial flavoring high in sugars such as High Fructose Corn Syrup. THIS IS A NEW AGE, WE NEED SOMETHING HEALTHIER AND FAR MORE DELICIOUS!

WELCOME the era of Shaved SNOW! What it is!

Our Shaved Snow is made with simple ingredients: Water, fresh fruit, real fruit syrup, non-dairy creamer (most flavors) and finally flash frozen into a cylindrical block. THE BLOCK IS the FLAVOR!

But those simple ingredients if not mixed properly at proper ratios and flash frozen correctly, will just end up as a flavorless and inconsistent solid block of ice. There is science in making our blocks of flavorful and delicious SNOW!

When all ingredients are mixed and frozen properly we end up with a decadent solid block of flavor! We then utilized a specialized machine that allows us to control the shaving thickness of our SNOW. This process alone requires a fair amount of practice to get it just right!

Why you ask?

Each block depending on flavor provides a different density which makes the frozen block harder or softer to shave, this means that the person shaving needs to calibrate the blade every time a serving of Shaved Snow is done! We call this unsung hero SHAVED SNOW artist and that is for a big reason; because if not shaved properly it won’t have the fluffy, airy, and even flavor throughout each spoon full!

As if that was not enough, one can add an assortment of toppings such as; fresh fruit, fruit puree, jellies and even popping boba for an extra special treat.

Now that you know the difference between shaved ice and Shaved Snow, come on in and give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!
